OXIDATIVE COUPLING OF METHANE OVER Li-Ni-Y-O CATALYSTS

Abstract

Abstract: The oxidative coupling of methane was studied over the Li-Ni-Y-O mixed oxide cata-lysts.The effects of the catalyst composition and preparation method and the reaction con-ditions on the activity of LiNi_0.7Y_0.3O₂ and the reaction products were examined.The C₂ yield up to 22% at methane conversion of 40% was obtained.The XRD analysis indicatedthat the catalyst was composed of LiNiO₂ and LiYO₂, showing a synergetic effect on tehreaction.
