Abstract: The uniform particles of α-Fe2O3 with diameters of 0.050~0.80μm were prepared underfollowing conditions 0.010~0.050mol/L of FeCl3, 0.0010mol/L HCl and 168h of aging at 105±1℃.The particles can be made in the shape of a cube or sphere. With a reducedaging time (24h), spherical particles were only obtained from the solution of FeCl3(0.018mol/L).The mean diameter of the particles was about 0.09μm.Rodlike β-FeOOH were formed under heating a solution of FeCl3(0.100~0.320mol/L) with HCl (0.0010mol/L).
