Abstract: The uniform particles of α-Fe₂O₃ with diameters of 0.050～0.80μm were prepared underfollowing conditions 0.010～0.050mol/L of FeCl₃, 0.0010mol/L HCl and 168h of aging at 105±1℃.The particles can be made in the shape of a cube or sphere.With a reducedaging time (24h), spherical particles were only obtained from the solution of FeCl₃(0.018mol/L).The mean diameter of the particles was about 0.09μm.Rodlike β-FeOOH were formed under heating a solution of FeCl₃(0.100～0.320mol/L) with HCl (0.0010mol/L).
