Abstract:

In the paper, a method for the determination of Schisandra and Kadsura was established based on their fluorescence spectra and primary reason of difference on fluorescence spectra between Schisandra and Kadsura was found out. Fluorescence properties of schisandrol A, schisantedrin A, deoxyschizandrin, g-schisandrin, anwulignan and ethanolic extract of Schisandra chinensis and Hugan tablets, were studied by fluorospectrophotometry and contents of the five substances were determined in Schisandra chinensis and Hugan tablets by high pertormance liquid chromatography. The results showed that the emission efficiency was decrescent from anwulignan, g-schisandrin, deoxyschizandrin to schisandrol A, however, the emission and excitation spectra of schisantherin A couldn't been obtained in the same condition. g-Schisandrin was primary fluorescence substance in Schisandra, however, anwulignan was primary fluorescence substance in Kadsura, so there was obvious difference on fluorescence spectra between Schisandra and Kadsura. The fluorospectrophotometry was used for the determination of Schisandra and Kadsura, the method was quick, simple and sensitive.
