Abstract: Six organic compounds have been firstly isolated from the South China Sea Gorgonian Menella spinifera Kukenthal. Their chemical structures have been determined on the basis of spectral data of UV, IR, MS, 1H NMR and 31C NMR as: n-hexadecanol(Ⅰ),3β-OH-5α-Pregnane-20-one(Ⅱ), Batyl alcohol(Ⅲ), 9H-Purin-6-amino-N.9-dimethyl(Ⅳ), Thymidine(Ⅴ)and Picolinic acid N-methyl betaine(Ⅵ). Spectral data of compound Ⅵ were first reported.
