Abstract: Carboxyl vinyl terrninated-polypropylene oxide maeromers and telechelie oligorners were synthesized from hydroxyl terminated-polypropylene oxide by end group conversion. From these maeromers or telechelie oligomers and styrene, polypropylene oxide/polystyrene graft and block copolymers were synthesized and the effects of molecular structure on the damping properties of the copolymers were studied.

Key words: polypropylene oxide, earboxyl vinyl terminayed macromer, maleic anhydride, telechelic oligomer, copolymerization, damping material
