Abstract: An adsorptive voltammetric determination of neuroleptic drug haloperidol, is described. The drug adsorbed on the glassy carbon electrode gave an anodic stripping peak at about+0.73V(vs.Ag/AgCl) in Britton-Robinson buffer (pH = 9).The response is linear in con-centration range of 1×10-9~1×10-7 g/mL with a detection limit of 5×10-10 g/mL after 10 minaccumulation. The scheme of open circuit preconcentration/medium exchange/stripping vol-tammetry is used to determine the drug in urine sample without preisolation. It is demons-trated that the adsorption of haloperidol on glassy carbon surface obeys Frumkin's isothermequation.
