Abstract:

A series of 2-aromatic amide hexafluoroisopropanol were obtained from HFA•3H2O and aromatic amine. The effects of the mole ratio of HFA•3H2O and aromatic amine, different catalyst and its quantity, different solvents, the reaction time and substituting groups on the reaction of HFA•3H2O and aromatic amine were investigated. The results showed that the optimum reaction conditions were as follows: 90 mmol of HFA•3H2O, 30 mmol of aromatic amine, mole fraction of toluene-4-sulfonic acid 6% based on aromatic amine, reflux condition and reaction time 5~35 h. Under these conditions, the conversion and the yield was respectively 40.1%~100% and 39.0%~99.0%. The reaction mechanism of aniline and HFA•3H2O was discussed on the basis of literatures about the reaction mechanism of aniline and HFA. That was proved father by the structure characterization of intermediates.
