Abstract:

BiO(OH)/C catalysts were prepared by impregnation of activated carbon with bismuth nitrate solution. XRD patterns of the catalysts show that BiO(OH) was well-dispersed in activated carbon, when the mass percent of BiO(OH) in catalyst is not more than 10%. At 75 oC, the catalytic activity was maintained during 7 runs. Under the conditions of 1 mmol of aromatic nitro compounds,2 mmol of hydrazine hydrate,0.05 g of 10% (mass percent) BiO(OH)/C, 5 mL of ethanol, reacting at 75 oC for a period of time, anilines were prepared in 88%~99% yields.
