Synthesis of Substituted Asymmetric Titanocenes with Bulky Substituents

Abstract: A series of substituted cyclopentadienyllithium were prepared from exocyclic double bond addition reaction of 6,6-dialkylfulvenes and 6,6-polymethylenefulvenes with n pentyllithium, 1-cyclohexenyllithium, 1,4-butylenedilithium and 1,6-hexylenedilithium, respectively. Reacting with CpTiCl3, they gave seventeen novel asymmetric titanocenes with bulky substituents. A general route for preparation of asymmetric titanocenes is herein reported.
