GC Determination ofγ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxy-Silane and Application to Bonding Reaction of Silica Gel

Abstract

Abstract: The present paper describes the qualitative and quantitative analysis ofγ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxy-silane by GC for its purity control and for monitoring its concentration change vs time in the bonding reaction.The velocity of both bonding reaction and self-poly-condensation of this silanizing agent is examined. As a result,the optimum condition for the bonding reaction is obtained.
