Abstract: The poly(butadiene-b-methyl methacrylate) (PBD-b-PMMA) copolymer has been hydrogenated to form hydrogenated HPBD-b-PMMA copolymer which can be used as a compatibilizer for PVC/LLDPE blends. The results of DMA and FTIR show that HPBD-b-PMMA is an excellent compatibilizer which changed the Tgs of two phases in blends. The hydrogen bonds are considered to be formed between C=O groups of PMMA and H-C-Cl groups of PVC,which weak the interaction between different macromolecules.
