Abstract: Lamella flower-like ZnO was prepared in a large-scale via a simple wet chemical method at room temperature(25 ℃) using polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) as template and zinc nitrate and sodium hydroxide as source materials. The effects of experimental parameters such as the amounts of reagents, the reaction time and temperature on the morphologies and structures of as-products were investigated in detail. The crystal features and morphologies of the products were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM), respectively. It was found that flower-like ZnO shows higher photocatalytic activity towards the degradation of rhodamine B under UV irradiation compared to commercial ZnO. The degradation efficiency of flower-like ZnO is up to 98.6% within 140 min.
