Abstract: Ag3PO4/WO3 composite was prepared by an ion-exchange method. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity of the different samples were evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange aqueous solutions under visible-light irradiation(λ>420 nm). The results showed that Ag3PO4/WO 3 exhibited much higher photocatalytic activity and stability than pristine Ag3PO4. The reason is that the photoinduced electrons on the conduct band of Ag3PO4 can be easily transferred to WO3, resulting in the increase of the separation of photogenerated carriers and the reduction of Ag3PO4.
