Synthesis of LiCu0.5Mn1.5O4 and Its Li+ Extraction/Insertion Reaction in Aqueous Solution

Abstract: The title lithium-copper-manganese complex oxide, a spineltype metal oxide, was prepared by a coprecipitation/thermal crystallization method. Its Li+ extraction/insertion process was found to be a topotactic reaction. It had an ion-exchange capacity of 5.0mmol/g for Li+ and showed also a memorial ion-exchange property for Li+.
