Abstract: A novel 14 membered N-acetic acid substituted tetraazamacrocyclic ligand, 5,12-diphenyl-7,14-dimethyl-l,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane-N-acetic acid (HL ) has been synthesized in dry methanol by the interaction of 5,12-diphenyl-7,14-dimethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane with bromoacetic acid. Its Cu (Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) complexes have also been prepared. The ligand and the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis.IR,1H NMR,MS,UV-Vis spectra and conductivity measurements.
