A NOVEL METHOD OF CALCULATION OF ELECTRONIC POLARIZABILITY OF IONS IN CRYSTAL

Abstract: A novel method for calculation of electronic polarizability of ions in crystals has been proposed based on the crystal structure, dielectric constant and ion radii of crystals. The results on the alkaline earth chaleogenides and alkali halides showed that the polarizability for the same ion is different in various crystals reflecting the interactions between ions in different crystals.
