SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF β-DIKETONE TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL OF COBALT AND NICKEL COMPLEXES

Abstract

Abstract: The cobalt(Ⅱ) and nickel(Ⅱ)complexes of β-diketone type liquid crystal have been synthesized. Their structures were characterized by IR, NMR measurements and elemental analysis. The complexes prepared were all shown to be nernatic phase liquid crystals,as proved by DSC results,polarizing microscopic observation and X-ray diffractiometry.
