Abstract

Abstract: Five ternary complexes of rare earths (RE = La, Ce, Nd, Eu and Gd) with pyruvic acid(pyr) and o-phenanthroline (phen) were prepared. The chemical compositions of the comple-xes obtained were ascertained by elemental and chemical analysis as RE₂(phen)₃(pyr)(NO₃)₅, IR and Raman spectra, molar conductances, X-ray diffraction analysis, thermalanalys's of these complexes were also studied.
