Abstract: systematic study on the redox property of tungstogermanate isomers α- and β-MxHy[GeW9M3(H2O)3O37nH2O(M′=Bu4N+,K+;M=Cr3+,Mn2+,Co2+,Ni2+,Cu2+) was carried out by polarography and voltammetry in aqueous solution. A redox mechanism was proposed and the effects of substituted elements and the structure of anions on the redox property were discussed. The oxidation abilities of the α- and β-isomers were compared.
