Abstract: Poly(styrene-acrylic acid)supported praseodymium complex (SAAC·Pr) has been synthesized and characterized. The infrared spectra of SAAC·Pr indicated the presence of bidentate carboxylate structure: The sequence distribution of the monomeric units in the complex has been calculated. The long sequences of styrene and acrylic acid increase with the increase of the monomer content in the copolymet. The longer the sequence of acrylic acid, the lower the catalytic activity of SAAC·Pr. The complex showed the highest activity when ratio of the number average sequence of styrene to that of acrylic acid was 3:1.
