Abstract:

Under the background of emerging engineering education, this paper focuses on the physical chemistry experiment course and explores the application of Small Private Online Course (SPOC) blended-teaching model based on Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) concept. In response to the problems existing in traditional teaching of physical chemistry experiment course, the SPOC blended-teaching framework system based on OBE concept have been constructed through the development of online teaching resources, the establishment of online learning platform and the design of assessment and evaluation system, which realizes the three-dimensional teaching of “online self-study + offline operation, pre-class preparation + in-class practical operation + post-class summary”, reflecting the OBE concept of “student-centered, learning outcome-oriented and continuous improvement”. The practical results indicate that this innovative teaching model plays a significant role in effectively enhancing students' theoretical knowledge, practical operation, as well as their comprehensive quality in autonomous learning, teamwork, and scientific innovation, which holds important theoretical and practical implications for promoting the reform and development of traditional engineering education, and also serves as a reference and guidance for other applied undergraduate universities to carry out the teaching reform of experimental courses in the construction of emerging engineering education.
