Abstract:

The preparation, thermal stability and shielding properties of boron carbide/lead/polyethylene composites were studied. Boron carbide/lead/polyethylene composites with mass fraction of 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% boron carbide and different thicknesses were prepared, and the related properties of the composites were evaluated. The results show that when different samples are at the same thickness, adding 6% boron carbide composite has better high-temperature basic properties. Thermogravimetric test shows that the mass loss of the sample is low and its basic properties are effectively maintained. In addition, the composite with 6% boron carbide has the best application effect and better particle shielding performance. The results provide a reliable basis for the preparation and performance evaluation of boron carbide lead polyethylene composites.
