Abstract: The rare earth complexes with m-nitrobenzoic acid (LnL3·nH2O, n=2,Ln=La-Lu and Y; n=0, Ln=Sc. HL=m-nitrobenzoic acid) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectra. The mechanism of thermal decomposition of complexes were studied by means of TG-DTA and high temperature X-ray diffractometry. The activation energies and enthalpy changes of dehydration process of LnL3·2H2O were calculated. The phase change process of the complexes has been studied by DSC. The ultrafinity of the products of decomposition was observed.
