Abstract: The critical overlap concentration (C*) and the critical entanglement concentration CE* of linear polystyrene (LPS) and branched polystyeene (BPS) have been disseussedThe values of C* and CE* were calculated according to the Graessley and Klein equation C*=0.77/[η], C*=1.08/[η], respectively. The results showed that the C* and CE* of branched polystyrene were larger than those of linear polystyrene.

Key words: polystyrene, critical concentration, overlap, entanglement
