OLIGO(ETHYLENE GLYCOL DI(p-HYDROXYPHENYL)ETHERS)AND THEIR USE AS STATIONARY LIQUIDS FOR GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY

Abstract: The oligomeric ethylene glycol di-p-hydroxyphenyl ethers have been synthesized by Wil-liamson reaction of p-hydroxybenzene with dichloroethane, dichloroethylether, dichlorotrig-lycol dichlorotetraglycol and characterized by IR, UV, 1H NMR, 13C NMR. The oligomerscan be used as stationary phases in gas chromatography for separation of mixed organiccompounds: alcohols, phenols, amines, esters, and aromatic hydrocarbons.
