Abstract: The title compound was prepared by heating V2O5 and K2TiO(C2O4)2·2H2O in sulfuricacid solution. Its composition was ascertained by elemental analysis. The compound changesfrom green to yellow at 418℃.The mechanism of thermochromism is ascribed to thedehydration of the coordinated water as confirmed by ESR, TG, DTA and IR results.

Key words: thermochromism, vanadium oxide compound
