Abstract: The adsorption of Cu2 + from aqueous solution by home-made carbonate hydroxylapatite(CHAP) synthesized by using abandoned eggshell and urea was characterized by FT-IR,SEM and EDS. Factors that might influent the adsorption performance were investigated, such as pH values, temperature and adsorption period in aqueous solution. The results showed that the Ca / P ratio of CHAP which increased by changing the amount of urea increased their surface area, and the absorption capacity became stronger because Ca / P ratio of CHAP was higher. Absorption capacity for Cu2 + from aqueous solution reached 37.66 mg / g by CHAP when pH was 7, the temperature was 40 ℃, the reaction time was 60 min, and Ca / P ratio was 1.80 . The solid phase and water distribution coefficient increased and the absorption capacity was very favorable with the Ca / P ratio of CHAP increased.
