Abstract:
The microstructure and composition of the stainless steel water tubes used for the condensers in power plants and the deposits near the corrosion holes were analyzed by SEM and EDS respectively. The electrochemical reaction mechanism of MnS dissolution and microbial corrosion were explored, and a synergistic effect of both corrosions was found in the process of pitting corrosion. Based on the comprehensive analysis of various factors affecting the stainlesssteel′s corrosion, some preventive measures are put forward to help the stainless steel condensers function smoothly.
Key words: condenser, stainless steel pipe, tubing defects, microbial corrosion, synergy
