Simultaneous Determination of Phenol, Resorcinol and Phloroglucinol by Multiwavelength Linear Regression Fluorimetry

Abstract: The fluorescence spectra of the mixture of phenol, resorcin and 1,3,5-trihydroxybenzene have been analyzed by multiwavelength linear regression method. In a buffered pH=6.86 solution the detection limit of phenol, resorcin and 1,3,5-trihydroxybenzene was found to be 0.48, 0.51 and 0.67 μg/L, respectively. The method has been applied to the simultaneous determination of the above phenols in the synthetical samples and pharmaceutical preparations with recoveries being in the range of 93.7%~106%.
