Abstract: The titanium hydride was prepared in quartz tube reactor. Its formation and de-composition were examined by SEM, XRD and DTA.The results show that in about 350C, hydrogen and titanium can be fast combined into titanium hydride which mainly in irreg-ular polyhedron particles of 1~40 μm size, and in 680℃ the titanium hydride can be decom-posed producing hydrogen. The relationship between the partial pressure of hydrogen andtemperature was researched through thermodynamic discussion.
