Abstract: The effect of polyacrylamide on rheology of petroleum stilfonate-butanol mixedmicelle system has been studied. The results showed that the mixed micelle svstem waspseudoplastic fluid with a yield point, and had a shear thinning property in the presence of7000ppm mineralized water. When polyacrylamide was added, the apparent viscosity ofmixed system further increased, without change of flow pattem. These systems were ana-lyzed by using the power-law and Casson models. This particular behavior is attributed tothe formation of polymer-micelle aggregates in the presence of mineralized water.
