Abstract: Solid state reaction between Cu(Ac)2·H2O and glycine has been investigated by XRDmethod. The reaction product was cis-[Cu(gly)2)·H2O and trans-[Cu(gly)2]·H2O dependingon the presence of solid alkali.Water, whether it is coordinated, in crystalline or as a mo-isture in alkali shows an obvious effect on the solid state reaction.
