Abstract: ESR spectra of the copper(Ⅱ) complex with 2 -ethylhexyl phosphonic acid mono (2 -ethylhexyl) ester have been recorded at 291K and 77K respectively. The possible structureshave been proposed based on the results obtained by CNDO/2 method. The metal ion iscoordinated with oxygen atoms of ligand to form a square-planar structure and the comp-lex is arranged into a layered structure of elongated octahedra.Cu—O bond in the complexshows both ionic and covalency property.
