Abstract: The intrinsic viscosities of poly(acrylic acid) samples with various degrees of neutrali-zation were measured in the aqueous solution of different concentration of NaCl.The depen-dence of the conformation change of polyion on the concentration of polymer, the chargedensity and the ionic strength of the solution were observed. The quantitative results, thereversible relationship between the logarithm of reduced viscosity, ηsp/C, and the logarithmof the concentration of salts.Cs, and proportional relationship between the intrinsic visco-sity and square root of the charge density of polyion were obtained.
