Abstract: The beads of styrene, acrylonitrile(41%) and divinylbenzene (3.6%) copolymer were synthesized and combined with titanium tetrachloride in chloroform to form an n-d bonding complex containing 14.74% of chlorine which correspond to 1.03?10-3mol TiCl4/g complex beads. The complex can be used to catalyze many organic reactions in bigh yield, such as esterification, ketal formation, acetalization, etherification and the Friedel-Crafts alkylation. The complex is very stable, it can be reused at least six times and more active than polysty-rene-titanium tetrachloride complex.
