Teaching Reform of Organic Chemistry Experiment Course Under the Mode of “BOPPPS+Simulation+” ——Taking the Preparation of n-Bromobutane as an Example

Abstract:

To address the issues of students' low participation, weak practical abilities, and insufficient cultivation of higher-order thinking in the organic chemistry experimental course, the team explored the connotation of the BOPPPS teaching model, fully integrated modern technology, and constructed a “five in One” new collaborative education system oriented on theoretical foundation, practical foundation, innovation empowerment, value-oriented guidance, and multi-dimensional evaluation. Taking the preparation experiment of n-bromobutane as an example, a teaching design was carried out. With the help of the learning platform, virtual simulation was integrated into the pre-test and post-test stages of BOPPPS teaching, combining reality and virtuality, forming a fifth-order ability cultivation path of “simulation-practice-innovation-reflection-application” with the combination of reality and virtuality. Practice showed that this model deeply combined theory with practice, achieved efficient interaction between teachers and students, effectively compensated for the shortcomings of traditional teaching for students' inadequate training in their practical ability, knowledge transfer ability, and innovation ability training, and laid a solid foundation for students' subsequent professional course learning, personal comprehensive ability improvement, and scientific research thinking establishment.
