A Method for Preparing Environment-friendly Snow-melting Agent from Wood Vinegar

Abstract: A two-step distillation method of preparing the environment-friendly snow melting acetate from wood vinegar is developed, that is, the wood vinegar that is distilled once reacts with calcium carbonate to prepare calcium acetate, and then the reaction solution is redistilled to make calcium acetate precipitate to prepare the snow melting agent. Usually, the methods used to prepare snow melting agent from wood vinegar are acetate preparation, activated-carbon decolorization, and concentration/crystallization or two-stage distillation to enrich acetic acid, acetate preparation, and concentration/crystallization. Compared with the two methods, the two-step distillation method eliminates tar, phenols and other harmful substances in the wood vinegar, and the preparation process is also more convenient. It is a new method to realize the large-scale production of acetate snow melting agent.
