Abstract:

The secondary metabolites of the medicinal mangrove endophytic fungus Penicillium sp.B21 were investigated. Five compounds were firstly isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of the fermentation mixture using silica gel column chromatography, preparative thin-layer chromatography and recrystallization. The structures of these compounds were identified as janthinone(1), emodin(2), citreorosein(3), decarboxydihydrocitrinone(4) and sclerotinin B(5), by comprehensive spectroscopic characterizations, X-ray single crystal diffraction as well as comparison with reported data. The single crystal structure of compound 5 was firstly obtained.
