Abstract:

A fluorescence method for phthalic acid esters determination has been developed based on enhanced fluorescence intensity of phthalic acid esters in concentrated sulfuric acid. The fluorescence intensity of the system has a linear relationship with phthalic acid esters concentration in the range of 5.00~600 μg/L with the detection limit of 0.57 μg/L. The recovery is in the range of 91.6%~105.1%. This method is simple, rapid and sensitive, and has a wide linear range. It has been successfully applied to determine the total phthalic acid esters in plastic cups and polyvinyl chloride pipe with satisfying results.
