Abstract: The influence of the amount of ethylene-acrylic acid random copolymer(EAA) onchanical properties measurements. The results show that the addition of a small amount ofEAA leads to a decrease in domain size of the SAN phase and an increase in modulus, tensilestrength and elongation at break. When the amount of EAA(c) is up to about 11.7% (massfraction), the saturated concentration(c.), that is, the POint of inter facial saturation on the SAN phase, is reached. When c is much higher than Cs, the excess EAA acts mainly as atoughening agent of the LLDPE/SAN blends. The compatibilizing effect of EAA is due topartial compatibility of the amorphous phases of EAA and LLDPE, and the specific interaction between EAA and SAN.
