Abstract: The kinetics of extraction of uranium(Ⅵ)from nitric acid medium by N-octyl-caprolactam (OCLA) in kerosene has been investigated by single drop technique. The extraction rate was found to be of pseudo-first order with respect to the concentration of uranium (Ⅵ) and independent of the extraction temperature. It is suggested that the extraction rate of uranium (Ⅵ) is controlled by the diffusion of UO2(NO3)2·2OCLA from interface into organic phase.
