Abstract: Lead dioxide and manganese dioxide were used as mediator for indirect oxidation of cinnarnic alcohol on solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)composite electrode prepared by depositing a porous platnium layer on Nafion. When MnO2 was used, cinnamic aldehyde was the main product of oxidatior1 with current efficieny up to 80%。 In the case of PBO2 a further oxidatinn of aldehvde to cinnamic acid and an obvious decrease of reaction selectivity on the electrode were observed.
