Abstract: dl-Naproxen(4)were obtained directly from 1-(6-methoxyl-2-naphthyl)propanone(2)via the catalytic aryl 1,2-rearrangement reaction in yield of 72.0%, which were resolutedby D-(-)-BGA(5)giving optical active s-(-)-Naproxen.
