Synthesis and Properties of Gemini Bis-imidazoline quaternary ammonium salt As Corrosion Inhibitor

Abstract:

A new series of Bis-imidazoline quaternary ammonium salt corrosion inhibitor(S-HSJ) was synthesized.The properties for copper, aluminum in 5% hydrochloric acid solution and the influences of the lipophilic structure of carbon chain length, corrosion time , concentration of corrosion inhibitor were investigated. The results show the series of S-HSJ corrosion inhibitor for copper, brass, aluminum and tinplate have shown better corrosion performance than traditional quaternary ammonium salt and Benzotriazole.The inhibition efficiency of S-HSJ-16 while adding amount of 0.1% achieve 94 ~ 99%. And the complex with anion surfactant for copper corrosion show synergy.
