Abstract: poly (L-tryptophan) modified glassy carbon electrode (PTRP/GCE) was prepared, Electrochemical behaviors and kinetic parameters of VB6 were investigated at PTRP/GCE by cyclic voltammetry(CV) , Linear Sweep Voltammetry(LSV), chronoamperometry (CA) and chronocoulometry (CC). Electrochemical results show that VB6 electrochemical behaviors exhibit a irreversible reaction at 1.085V(vs.SCE) with the electron transfer number of 1 and the proton number of 1. The peak currents are linearly related to the square root of scan rates in the scan rates range of 20~400mV/s .The effective area of PTRP/GCE Aeff and the diffusion coefficient D are 0.29cm2 and 1.9612×10-4cm2/s, respectively. In a HAc-NaAc buffer solution of pH =3.0, the oxidation peak currents of VB6 versus its concentration have a good linear relationship in the concentration range of 1×10-4~5×10-6mol/L with the correlation coefficient of 0.9931 and the detection limit of 1×10-6mol/L. The linear regress equation was ipa=7.7399+408.8129c (ipa:μA,c:mmol/L) and the recovery is 100.15%
