Teaching Reconstruction of “Three Transfer” Conservation Law and the Cultivation of Engineering Quality ——Innovative Practice of Based on the Course “Chemical Transfer Process”

Abstract:

The transfer processes of mass, energy and momentum (collectively referred to as the “Three Transfers”) are the fundamental chemical engineering phenomena within the industrial production of chemicals, and their transfer behaviors are strictly constrained by conservation laws (conservation of mass, energy and momentum). The course on chemical engineering transfer process not only presents a systematic overview of the theoretical foundations of three conservation laws but also enhances the cultivation of students' engineering quality. Therefore, guided by engineering quality, this study constructs a progressive teaching model that encompasses “theoretical model, case correlation/virtual simulation, and engineering application” based on the constraints and driving forces of the conservation laws of the three transfers, as well as their commonalities and differences. The model aims to solidify theoretical foundations through model derivations of conservation laws, conducte problem-oriented practical training integrated with typical engineering cases, and enhance the application of engineering scenarios through virtual simulation experiments. This approach facilitates a systematic quality improvement from basic theoretical cognition to engineering problem solving ability. Meanwhile, incorporating socialist core values into the teaching process helps to strengthen students' scientific belief, fosters innovation of engineering thinking, and promotes sustainability in technological innovation. This comprehensive strategy provides an effective pathway for enhancing the engineering quality of professionals in chemistry and chemical engineering.
