Abstract: In this paper, a multi-wall carbon nanotubes modified acetylene black microelectrode was prepared and the anodic stripping voltammetric characteristics of iodine on the modified electrode was studied. The results showed that in 0.1 mol/L KH2PO4 solution (pH4.0), when scanning linearly from 200mV to 1200mV at a scan rate of 200 mV/s, a sensitive anodic stripping peak appears at 570 mV (vs. SCE). Good linearity is kept between the oxidation peak current and the concentration of iodine ion in the range of 2.0×10-6~1.0×10-3 mol/L, the detection limit reached 8.0×10-7 mol/L. This method was successfully applied to determination of iodine in edible salt.
