Catalytic Ring-Opening Polymerization of Cycloalkenes by Mo(CO)₆ System

Abstract

Abstract: The ring-opening polymerization of cyclopentene,cyclohexene,α-pinene and ter-pene catalyzed by Mo(CO)₆ with CHnX_4-n(n=0,1;X=Cl,Br)under UV irradiation hasbeen studied.It was found that addition of small amount of anhydrous AlCl₃ promoted thepolymerization,The optimum conditions of polymerization were reported.
