Abstract: The amorphous Fe-W deposit is passivated chemically and electrochemically inchromate solutions in order to form a passive film. Anodic polarization curves show that thepitting potential of passivation moves about 1.68V toward noble. Amorphous Fe-W depositswere corroded severelv within one hour in NaCl solution, but the passivated deposit exhibit-ed no change and maintained metal luster on the surface after one month of immersion.

Key words: amorphous alloy deposit, Fe-W, passivation, anticorrosive property
